A DRUNKEN thug who threatened McDonald’s workers with violence when they wouldn’t serve him was arrested after nonchalantly walking back into the same restaurant for breakfast days after his tirade.

Peter Stewart had completely forgotten about the homophobic abuse he had hurled at a manager at the fast food outlet in Dundee’s Reform Street.

He walked in around 10.40pm on December 1 last year and told staff: “Get me something to eat, I’m starving.

“Stewart barked a series of unintelligible orders before swearing at staff then directing homophobic abuse at a manager who intervened.

Dundee Sheriff Court heard Stewart was asked to leave – but only did so after issuing a string of threats.

He said: “You’re lucky I haven’t punched you – you’re lucky I don’t jump over there and break all your bones.

“Stewart then told the manager he “better watch out” before leaving after being told police had been called.

Officers viewed CCTV when they arrived but couldn’t trace him.

However, days later Stewart walked straight back in to the branch and calmly ordered breakfast.

Stunned staff instantly recognised him and called police, who promptly arrested him.Stewart, 55, of Perth Road, Dundee, pleaded guilty on summary complaint to a charge of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.

Sheriff Tom Hughes admonished Stewart over the charge after hearing he had been of good behaviour since the incident.
