Stewarton schoolboy Jordan Cramond, one of a three-strong “Craiglang Young Team”, met his Still Game TV heroes last week.

Jordan, whose talent in impersonating the hit TV show’s OAP Jack Jarvis made him an internet hit, came face-to-face with him on the set of the new series.

Jordan, 12, a Primary 7 pupil at Nether Robertland Primary, joined two other theatre school colleagues, Jamie Wallace and Cheldon Woodburn, as lookalikes for the hit comedy’s stars as they visited the cast filming scenes for the seventh series of Still Game, due to be aired in October after a nine-year absence.

Jordan, who attends the Glasgow-based UK Theatre School and who took part in the video project which raised awareness of the school’s charity status, enjoyed his day. “It was brilliant and the experience gave us a great insight,” he said.

Actor Ford Kiernan, the “real” Jack, had earlier told the young trio that he and Victor (Greg Hemphill) loved the sketch the youngsters had done.

After it went viral the three 12-year-olds were invited down to the set. Jordan added: “It was a dream come true.”

Jordan, Jamie and Cheldon captured the TV show trio’s mannerisms and voices so well that their wee Jack, wee Victor and wee Isa (Jane McCarry) were hailed online as “absolutely fantastic” and ‘brilliant’.

The kids’ theatre school, based in Glasgow city centre, has almost 700 young actors on their books.

Lizanne Lambie Thomson, school principal, said: “There a lot of children who are hugely talented but because funds won’t allow they can’t get involved.

“We wanted to try to get funding and scholarships in place for children in that situation.

“This whole project has been geared towards raising awareness of that.”
