MOTHERWELL halted their run of defeats with a no score bore against Dundee at Fir Park.
The Steelmen were the better side, particularly in the first half, but couldn’t find a winner against the Dark Blues .
Mark McGhee’s men had lost three on the spin going into the fixture and at least brought that losing habit to an end.
It was far from a classic in Lanarkshire but Well fans were cheered up by assistant boss James McFadden’s first appearance in six months after he came on as a late substitute and the visiting support got their first glimpse of new signing Kevin Gomis.

Three things we learned:
1 – In a game low in quality Chris Cadden was one of the few players who showed his class and makes his Scotland Under-21 snub even more surprising after Mark McGhee admitted he was baffled by Ricky Sbragia’s decision not to include him in the squad for upcoming games against Macedonia and Ukraine.
2 – Frenchman Kevin Gomis was handed his debut in the heart of the Dundee defence and the 27-year-old former Nice man looked like the type of no-nonsense centre half Paul Hartley’s side have been looking for.
3 – A crowd of just over 4000 turned up for this one but they deserve a refund. Don’t expect too many highlights on BBC Sportscene on Sunday night from a forgettable 90 minutes.
