A STORE detective yesterday admitted growing cannabis in his home.
Roddy Hughes, 42, was arrested last November after police raided his flat.
During a brief hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday he admitted one charge of producing the Class B drug.
A not guilty plea to a second charge of cannabis possession was accepted by the Crown.
Sentence was deferred until September 28.
Hughes, of Govan, Glasgow, was accompanied at court by his girlfriend and a friend. He has two teenage daughters.
The Record understands the former private hire taxi driver has a troubled past.
In December 2006 his annual licence was approved by Glasgow City Council.
But the terms stated: “final warning issued regarding the applicant’s future conduct”.
Ahead of his appearance Rangers fan Hughes thanked friends for their support.
On Tuesday he tweeted: “Cheers lads for all the messages about tomorrow. Let’s you see your true pals.No Surrender.”
