The X Factor has returned to our screens once more, so we’re all getting a bit nostalgic for years gone by.

It’s that time of year when we start to think about faces from previous X Factor competitions and how they’re doing now.

And one of them has undergone a dramatic transformation.

Remember Johnny Robinson? He hit our screens back in 2011 when he performed Etta James’ classic At Last in the audition room.

The kind-hearted contestant had lots of fans

His sweet nature and high-pitched voice meant he won over a fanbase who voted for him all the way into the live shows, making it to week five.

After he found fame on The X Factor, he had a bit of a makeover and got his teeth done – so he already looked a little different.

But if you stumbled across his new music video for the song Eaten Alive, you’d be forgiven for not knowing who he is.

Is that really you, Johnny?

Johnny looks amazing as his drag persona Sarah Lee, showing off heavy make-up and a long wig.

Seriously, you would walk past this glam lady in the street and be none the wiser, right?

Wow

This year The X Factor isn’t exciting the British population as much as it did back in Johnny’s day.

The return of ITV’s talent show saw its lowest viewing figures in more than 10 years.

The first episode of the series was viewed by 6.8 million people – a drop of 800,000 compared to last year’s first episode.

The show was blasted as a “set-up” last night by furious viewers.

Chaos ensued when desperate hopeful Kirsty Murphy gatecrashed girl group Remention’s audition to sing for the judges.

The 21-year-old dance teacher, barged in on a girl group amid fears she will not get her chance on the final day of auditions, and judge Simon Cowell admitted he liked her “sheer determination” and that she has “balls” for pulling the stunt.

But the incident did not go down well with those watching at home as they quickly took to Twitter to slam the show as “staged”.

“X factor’s so fixed it’s unreal,” said one while another added, “X factor is so fake I feel personally insulted by that rubbish.”

“That was the most staged X Factor thing I’ve ever seen,” complained another of Kirsty’s moment.

While model Sam Reece joined in with the criticism tweeting to his followers: “I smell another set up #XFactor.”

Kirsty attempted to win over Cowell and his fellow judges Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne with a rendition of Alicia Keys’ If I Ain’t Got You.

And they were all suitably impressed with her actions and gave her three yeses, while Sharon remained the only judge to give her a no over her “pitching issues”.
