Angelina Jolie was reportedly concerned about Brad Pitt’s alleged booze and weed consumption.
The Hollywood couple – who have split after the actress filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences – have six children together, and the actress said their “health” and wellbeing was the reason for the split.
In a statement, Angelina’s attorney said: “This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting at this time, and asks that the family be given their privacy during this difficult time.”
According to TMZ, the star privately expressed concerns about her husband’s alleged drinking and weed smoking, and alleged anger issues.
Brad has admitted to smoking weed in the past, although in 2009 he told US chat show host Bill Maher that becoming a father meant he had ditched it.
“You know, I’m an artist,” he joked after it was said he could “roll the perfect joint”.
“[But] I’m a dad now, and you want to be alert.”
He also previously revealed: “I got really sick of myself at the end of the 1990s.
I was hiding out from the celebrity thing, I was smoking way too much dope, I was sitting on the couch and just turning into a doughnut and I really got irritated with myself.”
In an interview the same year, Quentin Tarantino revealed some details of a boozy and drug-fuelled night at Pitt’s vineyard.
“Brad lives on a vineyard, so I did not get him drunk. It’s his wine, alright,” he told Jimmy Kimmel, adding they had six bottles of wine between them.
“We’re knocking it back, and a smoking apparatus of some sort found it’s way onto the table.”
