EAST KILBRIDE have been drawn away to Cowdenbeath in round two of the Scottish Cup.
Martin Lauchlan’s Lowland League outfit thumped Vale of Leithen 9-1 in Saturday’s first round tie and Kilby have been rewarded with a trip to Fife on Saturday, October 22 after the draw for round two was made in Aberdeen this evening.
League Two side Cowdenbeath are currently seventh in the table with two wins from their opening seven games, while minnows East Kilbride have won eight from eight and lead the Lowland League table.
Last season East Kilbride knocked out League One outfit Stenhousemuir after a third round replay and will need to pull off another shock to progress to that stage this season.
Kilby boss Lauchlan said: “It’s tough and we’ll go in as underdogs, but we’ve had a great season so far and we’ll look forward to it.

“We’ll give them the respect they deserve being a team in a higher league and it will be great experience for the boys to see how far we’ve come as a team.”
East Kilbride midfielder Sean Winter, who scored three times in five Scottish Cup games last season, said: “It’s a great game for us.
“Beating Stenny last year and the start we’ve had to this season shows us we have nothing to fear.
“It will gives us an idea of where we need to be if we do get to the (League Two) playoffs this season.”
