A man was left with broken face bones during a pub brawl involving a crowd of 20 people in Ayr.
The 35-year-old was allegedly attacked by a man outside the Campbelltown bar in Main Street at about 10.30pm on Saturday.
Police were called to reports of about 20 people fighting and it is believed others were injured.
An argument broke out earlier in the evening at the Smugglers Bar, which is thought to have carried on outside the Campbelltown.
The assault victim was taken to Ayr Hospital with a fractured eye and face.
Shaun Davidson, 45, of Ayr, appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court in private on Monday charged with serious assault in relation to the incident.
He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
His next court appear is yet to be confirmed.
