Dawn French has joined Jennifer Saunders in ruling herself out of presenting The Great British Bake Off.
The comedy duo were linked to the show after hosts Mel and Sue – along with judge Mary Berry – pulled out when Channel 4 poached the rights from the BBC.
Dawn said: “I think that rumour started because what other two girls are there working together?
“It’s as simple as that. ‘Those two, them’. Absolutely not, no. It’ll probably work perfectly nicely on Channel 4. They don’t have to get many viewers to be pleased.
“Mary’ll get her own thing and Mel and Sue’ll get their own thing and everyone will be happy.”
Speaking to Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast, Dawn, 59, also said she was “up for” getting high on magic mushrooms that grow near her Cornwall home.
She previously said she wanted to try drugs in older age.
