A 42-year-old man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with attempted murder
Gary Harkins appeared on petition at Livingston Sheriff Court today following his arrest in connection with an alleged stabbing outside a gym in Bathgate.
Dale Dickson, 26, suffered serious knife wounds to his throat and neck during a bloody incident outside the Muscle Asylum gym in King Street, Bathgate, on Tuesday afternoon.
Mr Dickson was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment for his injuries, which were thought to be life threatening.
Harkins, who is from Bathgate, made no plea or declaration and was committed for further examination. He made no application to be released on bail.
He is due to make a second appearance for full committal in around a week’s time.
