Another Scot can shoot into the sporting stratosphere of greatness tonight.
Move over world tennis No.1 Andy Murray – but only for a while – because Gary Anderson can join a select band of darting greats by winning the PDC World Championship for the third time in a row.
Standing in his way, though, is world No.1 Michael van Gerwen who was in blistering form against Raymond van Barneveld in the semi-final on Sunday.
Here’s our guide to tonight’s final…
What time is it on?
Sky Sports have exclusive coverage of the Ally Pally showdown. The programme starts at 8pm but don’t expect the action for around half an hour after that. With the game being the first to seven sets, it could last around two and a half hours if it goes all the way.

Who’s the favourite?
Van Gerwen is. The Dutchman is 1/3 with the likes of Betfred while Gary Anderson is 11/4. Favourite or no favourite, Record Sport is backing Ando for the “threepeat”.
Where’s Anderson from?
Gary’s hometown is so close to England, he could be forgiven for wearing flat caps on the oche. He’s from Eyemouth, a tiny wee town in the Scottish borders that is best known for fishing and now Gary Anderson!
