Jonny Hayes has tonight signed a new Aberdeen deal – just one week after looking like he was on his way out of Pittodrie.
The Republic of Ireland penned a one-year extension that will keep him in the North-East until the summer of 2019.
Hayes had been the subject of three failed bids from Cardiff City, whose final offer was just £600,000.

The 29-year-old is thrilled with the news he is staying with the Dons and he said: “I was more than happy to sign again and I have appreciated every minute that I have been here and I am still enjoying it as well working under the manager.
“When I signed the last extension, I think it was three years ago, I always said that as long as he was here I would be happy to stay and I think that is the same with a lot of the boys.”
Hayes is a key component of Derek McInnes’ bid to finish Scottish Premiership runners-up. They currently occupy second place on goal difference, with a game in hand over Rangers.

He has scored six goals this season, making 26 appearances.
Hayes’ deal follows last week’s news Graeme Shinnie had also signed a new contract.
