Former Hibs star Tam McManus has posted a photo of the brutal toll that plastic pitches take on players’ feet.
Footballing nomad McManus tweeted a picture of his damaged sole, which he said was caused by playing on artificial turf every day.
Using the hashtag #skingraft, McManus said the damage was occurred when he was tearing it up on US plastic pitches every day.
The shredded foot caused a bit of a stir on Twitter, with one use saying he “won’t be sleeping tonight”.
Another said the image “knocked him sick”.
One had a dig at the well-travelled player, joking about his time spent on the subs’ bench.
McManus played for Colorado Rapids and Rochester Juniors in two spells in the US in a career that took him to Dundee, Falkirk, Dunfermline, Ayr United and across the water to Irelend.
