Drunk thug 'stabs' two regulars in Glasgow pub after being refused service

Two people are believed to have been stabbed in a pub after staff refused to serve an “overly drunk man”.

The incident happened at The Kirkhouse Bar and Kitchen on Shettleston Road with eyewitnesses reporting six police cars, two ambulances and forensics attending the scene, with one man describing the scenes as “chaotic”.

The two people who were injured are regulars at the pub, and their condition is unknown.

One witness at the scene said the thug pulled out a knife before launching into his attack.

In a statement on Facebook, the Kirkhouse said: “We would like to apologise to customers as we will be closing early this evening after an incident within the premises.

“An overly drunk man (who was not a regular) seriously assaulted 2 of our regulars after he was refused drinks by our staff. The police are investigating the incident and reviewing CCTV.

“We would like to apologise to our customers who witnessed this. Unfortunately the culprit instigated the attack randomly and swiftly. If you have witnessed anything and the police did not speak to you and you have any further information please contact the police.

“We will be open as usual tomorrow.”

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We received a call at around 7pm regarding an incident at The Kirkhouse Bar on Shettleston Road. Officers are currently in attendance.”
