A man has been arrested in connection with the death of Craig Kearney.
The 24-year-old amateur footballer was found seriously injured at around 2.20am on Sunday morning in Lochranza Drive, East Kilbride.
Emergency services raced to the scene but Mr Kearney, of Kingston Avenue, Neilston, Renfrewshire, died a short time later.
It has been confirmed tonight that a 46-year-old man has been arrested and is being detained in police custody.
He is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court tomorrow.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A full report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
