Emergency services have rushed to a street in Perth amid reports of a partially collapsed building.
Fire crews and an ambulance sped to Atholl Street during rush hour this morning after a stairwell reportedly collapsed inside a block of flats.
A trauma team was spotted at the scene and gas workers arrived to check the area.
It’s still unclear if there have been any injuries.
Cops arrived on site to divert traffic away from the area.
Local bus services are affected by the incident as the road was closed from Rose Terrace to North Methven Street.
A witness told The Courier : “There is a lot of activity and the street has been completely sealed off.
“There is no sign of smoke so it’s not a fire but it seems to be something fairly serious judging by the response.
“The paramedics are in protective suits and helmets standing by with a stretcher and the NHS trauma team is there too.
“The fire service heavy rescue is on site and fire men have moved into the scene with a ladder that they’re putting down below ground level.”
Deputy First Minister tweeted saying he “hopes everyone is safe”.
A spokeswoman for Perth and Kinross Council confirmed emergency services were responding to an ongoing incident.
