MULDERSDRIFT – Near 50 starved and sick monkeys have been rescued from filthy dwelling circumstances in a South African personal zoo on Saturday, and have been whisked away to a care facility, a world animal rights group stated.
Worldwide Primates Rescue (IPR) founder Sue Mousley stated after failed makes an attempt by the proprietor of Little Falls backyard centre to enhance the dwelling circumstances of the monkeys, the rescue workforce lastly managed to get a courtroom order permitting them to relocate the primates to IPR’s care facility.
The monkeys got little to no meals and water whereas dwelling inside filthy enclosures, Mousley stated.
“They’re nonetheless terribly underneath weight, a few of them look a bit dehydrated … the situation of most of these primates is simply merely not acceptable,” stated Mousley.
Muldersdrift police station spokesman Hitler Ngwenya stated if there was a necessity for a case to be opened, it will be.

The rescue operation occurred within the early hours of the morning after the monkeys have been sedated.
