A wind farm consisting of 22 turbines which could contribute over £3 million to the local economy has officially opened in West Lothian.
The Harburnhead Wind Farm near West Calder can generate clean energy for around 31,000 homes and reduces annual carbon emissions by around 60,000 tonnes.
The green energy site is a joint venture between renewables companies FIM Services Limited and LDV Enel Viento who secured £70 million of funding in March last year to complete the project.

Wayne Cranstone, Chief Operating Officer at FIM, said: “After 12 months of construction it is fantastic to be able to celebrate the successful operation of the wind farm, which was delivered ahead of schedule and under budget.”
Kari Khevenhueller-Metsch, owner of LDV Enel Viento, said: “This has been my baby for nearly a decade so I’m proud to see it operating today.”
