Manchester United players have paid tribute to fellow teammates Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rojo by wearing shirts emblazoned with their names in their pre-match warm-up against Burnley.
Both players suffered knee-ligament damage during Thursday night’s Europa League quarter-final victory against Anderlecht at Old Trafford, ruling them out of action for a considerable time to come.

And to mark the player’s absences, the Red Devils felt it would be fitting to pull on shirts sporting “Ibrahimovic” and “Rojo” before kick-off, which some might see see as a fitting gesture.
However, for the majority of fans on Twitter, they would tend to disagree…
Bitter rivals Manchester City were mocked for a similar show of support for Ilkay Gundogan earlier in the season, and perhaps the Reds should have expected a similar social media backlash with their own version of the stunt.
Thankfully for Manchester United fans, the absence of Zlatan and Rojo do not appear to be a big loss, so far, with Jose Mourinho’s men cruising to victory against Burnley and closing in on a top four spot.
