Rangers defender James Tavernier has claimed Leigh Griffiths admitted to him Celtic shouldn’t have been awarded a penalty in the Scottish Cup semi final at Hampden.
The Hoops won the spot-kick when Griffiths went to ground in the area after a challenge from the Gers full-back.
Willie Collum had to consult with assistant referee Don Robertson – who awarded Ross County a late penalty against the Hoops last week following a dive from Alex Schalk – before giving the spot kick, which was converted by Scott Sinclair.

Speaking to Rangers TV, Tavernier said: “I thought it wasn’t a penalty, I thought I got the ball first.
“Griffiths thought it wasn’t a penalty when I spoke to him.
“It was just one of those decisions that the ref behind the goal’s given the penalty.
“It’s just one of those where it’s just been given and you can’t do anything about it.”
