Police have confirmed that a body has been discovered in a river close to where a man disappeared last month.
Officers said the family of Kieran Bruce were informed of the grim find, near Perth, on Friday night.
The 25-year-old vanished on Saturday March 18 after being spotted on the city’s Queen’s Bridge at about 4am.
A major search was launched by the emergency services, including 50 firefighters and police divers who searched the river two days later.
The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner are investigating the local response in the lead up to the incident.
Last night a spokesman confirmed the body was found on a riverbank near to West Kinfauns and Walnut Grove.
He added: “Officers are currently making enquiries but it is not believed there are any suspicious circumstances.
“The family of missing person Kieran Bruce have been informed.”
