Watch panic as bar full of football fans goes up in flames during Scotland vs England clash

A bar full of football fans has gone up in flames during today’s Scotland vs England World Cup qualifier .

The fans, reported to be English, were watching the game at Turkish bar The Albatross when the blaze broke out shortly after Scotland’s Leigh Griffiths scored his second goal putting Gordon Strachan’s side in the lead.

It is believed the fire was caused by a flare set off just outside the bar.

Panicked pub-goers can be heard shouting and seen fleeing the scene as firefighters tackle the blaze.

Scotland fan Jordan Cooper, who was in the nearby Ibrox pub, told the Daily Record about the chaos at the scene.

He said: “I don’t know if the fire was deliberate but Scotland fans were singing and celebrating in front of the pub when we scored to make it 2-1.

“Then England scored the last goal and they started setting off flares.”

Jordan, from Kilmarnock, went on to say that bars nearby, including the one he was in, also had to be evacuated.

He said: “Everyone was getting evacuated from all pubs around because the flares had caught fire to the front of Albatross Bar leading it to cause a massive amount of smoke then massive flames. The bar was full of English fans.

“I was straight across from it all and saw it. The flames also spread along some of the Manchester Bar which is next to the Albatross Bar.”

England skipper Harry Kane ruined sensational Leigh Griffiths’ moment in the Hampden sun as his injury-time leveller robbed Scotland of a crucial victory.

Thirteen arrests were made after the World Cup Qualifier at Hampden and cops have appealed to the public to “behave responsibility” tonight.

Before the match, a 20-year-old man was taken to hospital suffering from head injuries after a “glassing” incident at Euro Hostel in Glasgow city centre.
