England stars escaped injury this afternoon after a yob fan launched a whisky bottle at them following Harry Kane’s stoppage time equaliser during the World Cup Qualifier at Hampden .
The English skipper and his teammates were in the midst of celebrating the Tottenham Hotspur star’s injury time goal when the empty bottle was thrown from the Scotland end.
Kane’s teammate Raheem Sterling posted a photograph of the bottle being launched towards the players on his Instagram page.
The incident didn’t seem to dampen Kane’s mood however as revelled in his first goal for his home-side in over a year.
Speaking after the match he said: “We’re relatively happy with the draw.
“It was a crazy end to the game and that’s international football for you
“To go behind 2-1 out of the blue like that, I think we didn’t control the game or put it away.
“Two special free-kicks from their lad and all of a sudden we’re in stoppage time a goal down.
“But it was unbelievable character to come back and to get that goal puts us top and qualifying is all that counts.”
Kane’s late goal broke hearts all over Scotland after Leigh Griffiths’ two stunning free kicks in the final five minutes gave Gordon Strachan’s men the lead.
