A fishing boat that was grounded off the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula has been efficiently refloated this morning.
The 20 metre lengthy boat turned caught on rocks on the southern finish of Pink Mercury Island.
The vessel has 9000 litres of diesel onboard and there have been considerations it will spill into the water upon retrieval.
Waikato Regional Council and gasoline-containment booms have been on the able to cope with spillage however weren’t wanted.
The vessel’s crew was in a position to make use of an anchor and winch throughout excessive tide to free the ship.
Dave Lovett from Waikato Regional Council says it is an excellent consequence.
