CAPE TOWN – 300 main faculty academics shall be despatched for coaching after they failed a Grade three English first further language check.
The Primary Schooling Division says this could not come as a shock as a result of English isn’t the house language of many academics.
The Zenex Basis discovered the English proficiency of the academics examined within the Western Cape, the Japanese Cape and KwaZulu-Natal is corresponding to that of a Grade three learner.
Primary Schooling’s Elijah Mahlangu says the division is conscious English is difficult for some academics.
“It is nothing new actually, as a result of comparable analysis has been carried out.”
Mahlangu says the Zenex Basis analysis has offered the Schooling division with priceless info.
“They’ve gone into higher element to see precisely what it’s within the English language that’s giving the academics an issue.”
In complete, greater than R1 billion has been budgeted for instructor coaching.
