CAPE TOWN – The preliminary findings of a 3-yr investigation by the Japanese Cape Schooling Division has uncovered greater than 30,000 pupils don’t exist, but they’ve been on the provincial schooling system for years.
One pupil has, till lately, been on the schooling system since 1952.
The removing of the “ghost pupils” will now save the division greater than R60 million.
Democratic Alliance provincial schooling spokesperson Edmund van Vuuren says many faculty principals inflated the variety of pupils of their faculties.
Van Vuuren stated, “The upper the variety of pupils, the upper the actual faculty is graded and meaning a better wage for the principal.”
He sats location has to do with why it’s taken so lengthy to root out the corruption.
“Loads of these faculties are in deep rural areas and most are inaccessible; you can’t use these roads – with the outcome that they can’t be monitored.”
