David Hopkin’s Livingston side are facing the exit from this year’s Betfred Cup.
That’s after the West Lothian team were dumped 2-0 by Ayr United at the Tony Macaroni Arena on Tuesday.
Goals from Peter Murphy and Craig McGuffie were enough to see off Hopkin’s men – who replace newly promoted Championship club Ayr in League One this season.

The Lions must now overcome Hamilton Accies away from home today to stand any chance of qualifying for the second round of the competition.
But even a win could leave Livi out at the group stage if second placed St Mirren defeat minnows Edinburgh City in Paisley.
Livingston currently sit in fourth place in Group G with three points, level on points with Accies, three points behind St Mirren and six behind Ayr.

The defeat came just three days after Livi drew 0-0 with English League Two outfit Hartlepool.
Following that game Hopkin said: “We’ve got a couple of League Cup games coming up that obviously we want to perform well in and get points but the focus is on the league.”
