PASSENGERS and crew fled a ferry in a busy French port this morning following reports of an explosion.
Seventy-seven passengers and crew were evacuated in the incident, which took place in the port of Joliette.
Local reports claim that those on board the boat heard a “thump” before the evacuation took place.
After authorities arrived at the scene, the boat was searched by police.
No suspicious items were found, however.
France is on high alert following the tragic terror attack that took place in Nice earlier this month.
