JIM McINALLY last night savoured Peterhead’s win but confessed: “We would have been happy to take a point.”
Revitalised Blue Toon made it back-to-back victories in Monklands with success at the Exsel Group Stadium following last weekend’s victory at Airdrieonians.
Ryan Wallace almost fired Albion Rovers in front in the fifth minute and again before the break – but keeper Graeme Smith pulled off two great saves to deny the striker.
As the match progressed, it looked like both sides would be forced to settle for a share of the spoils.
However, midfielder Jordon Brown broke the deadlock in the 79th minute and Peterhead held on for a third league win to climb out of the relegation zone.
Rovers had won four of their previous five games but player/manager Darren Young said: “It was a scrappy game.”
