British racing driver Tom Onslow-Cole has smashed the record for the world’s Fastest Mobile Bed.
Onslow-Cole reached a top speed of 83.8 mph on the customised regular double bed at the Emirates Motor Sports Complex, in Umm Al Quwain, UAE.
The Hotels.com bed was based on a Ford Mustang GT but appeared on the outside to resemble a regular double bed, as required by the Guinness World Records rules.
Record breaking driver Tom said: “I was made-up to take the world’s fastest bed record with Hotels.com, it was an unforgettable experience and I hope it’ll stand the test of time – it’ll take some beating!”
The previous record was 69 mph, set on a bed made by Edd China during Guinness World Records Day celebrations in 2008.
