Two teenagers have been reported to a children’s panel after a teacher was allegedly shot with a BB gun in a school corridor.
The incident occurred in a secondary school in the Argyll & Bute area on Monday – but the teacher was not seriously injured, Police Scotland said.
Two boys, aged 13 and 15, have been referred to the Early and Effective Interventions Co-ordinator – a process designed to find “the most appropriate intervention to improve outcomes for children and young people whilst reducing the likelihood of them re-offending”.
A council spokeswoman said the incident had been “thoroughly investigated” and disciplinary action taken against those involved.
She added: “We have hard-working staff and pupils who are together achieving often award-winning success.
“Their wellbeing is paramount and we take any action required to ensure this.
“The school is said to have more than 1,300 pupils.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Two male pupils, aged 13 and 15, are the subject of a report to the Early and Effective Interventions Co-ordinator in connection with the incident.”
