Singer hopes to save lots of the Maui's dolphins with track

A Kiwi singer-songwriter with an enormous social media following hopes to boost consciousness of the plight of the Maui’s dolphins with a charity music.

Jamie McDell’s ‘Son of the Ocean’, recorded with fifty five different younger Kiwis, is a part of the World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) Problem fifty five marketing campaign — fifty five being the estimated variety of grownup Maui’s dolphins left.

“The Maui dolphins are just like the kiwis of the ocean — there’s nothing like them,” she says.

“A music about Maui dolphins can get individuals’s consideration asking for extra safety of the species.”

McDell, 23, has greater than 200,000 followers on Fb, 28,000 on Twitter, forty four,000 on Instagram and eighty three,000 on YouTube.

WWF campaigns head Peter Hardstaff hopes the track not solely raises consciousness, however provides to the group’s warfare chest to battle for the species. All proceeds from iTunes gross sales will go to WWF.
